It’s hard to believe that the month of August is already upon us. In many families, we’re gearing up for the school year, which can be exciting for some and discouraging for others.
Along with the theme of school this month, I wanted to touch on two things that can help us as Christians in regard to the word of God.

They are studying and memorizing. Now, I know that not very many people enjoy those two things, but God wants us to do both!

2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV)"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. First, I want to challenge you this month to spend some time studying your Bible. Not just reading it fast then closing it, but really spending time studying the words of God."

Then, secondly, I want to challenge you to memorize verses from the Bible. It’s amazing what will happen inside when you fill your heart with God’s word.

Psalms 119:11 (KJV) "Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee."

Below are some verses that you can memorize.

Ladies’ Memory Verses:

Proverbs 31:10 (KJV)" Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies."

Proverbs 31:30 (KJV)"Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised."

Men’s Memory Verses:

Proverbs 20:7 (KJV) "The just man walketh in his integrity: his children are blessed after him."

Psalms 40:4 (KJV) "Blessed is that man that maketh the LORD his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies."
